Use the docs in your editor (MCP)
Connect VS Code, Cursor, Claude Code, Claude or ChatGPT to the Liyagent docs MCP server so their answers about Liyagent come from these pages.
- Add the docs MCP server to your editor or assistant
- Ask about Liyagent and get answers that cite the docs
- Know what the server can and cannot read
The Liyagent documentation is also a read-only MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Add it to your editor or AI assistant, and when you ask it about Liyagent it searches and reads these pages, then cites the ones it used.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Server name | liyagent-docs |
| URL | https://liyagent.com/docs/mcp |
| Transport | Streamable HTTP |
| Authentication | None |
The server reads the public documentation only, the same pages you are reading now. It has no access to a Liyagent instance, your console, your tickets or any customer data, and it cannot change anything. It is separate from your instance's own /mcp endpoint, which serves your agents' tools to signed-in people (see MCP servers).
What it offers
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
search_docs | Finds the pages that best match a query (up to 10), each with its title, URL, section, summary and the matching passage. |
get_page | Returns one page as Markdown, by its path (/docs/connect/jira) or URL. |
list_pages | Lists every page's title, URL and section, or one section's (for example govern). |
Each page is also an MCP resource, docs://docs/<path>, for clients that browse resources.
VS Code
With GitHub Copilot in VS Code, install the server in VS Code with one click, or add it to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace:
{
"servers": {
"liyagent-docs": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://liyagent.com/docs/mcp"
}
}
}From a terminal, the same server can be added to your user profile:
code --add-mcp '{"name":"liyagent-docs","type":"http","url":"https://liyagent.com/docs/mcp"}'Then open Copilot Chat in Agent mode and ask, for example, "How do approvals work in Liyagent?".
Cursor
Install the server in Cursor with one click, or add it to .cursor/mcp.json in your project (or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project):
{
"mcpServers": {
"liyagent-docs": {
"url": "https://liyagent.com/docs/mcp"
}
}
}Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http liyagent-docs https://liyagent.com/docs/mcpAdd --scope user to have it in every project, or --scope project to share it with your team through the project's .mcp.json.
Claude and Claude Desktop
- Open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it
Liyagent docsand enter the URLhttps://liyagent.com/docs/mcp. Leave the authentication settings empty. - Choose Add, then turn the connector on for a chat from the tools menu.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector for the organization first. Custom connectors are reached from Anthropic's cloud, which is why the server is on the public internet.
ChatGPT
- Turn on Developer mode in Settings (on Business and Enterprise workspaces, an admin must allow it first).
- In Settings, then Connectors, create a connector.
- Name it
Liyagent docs, enter the URLhttps://liyagent.com/docs/mcpand choose No authentication. - Enable the connector in a chat from the tools menu.
ChatGPT's menu names and the plans that offer developer-mode connectors change often. If a step does not match what you see, follow OpenAI's current help for custom connectors; the URL and No authentication stay the same.
Limits
- Each query is at most 500 characters, and a request at most 16 KB.
- Requests are rate-limited per caller (30 a minute by default). A client that goes over gets HTTP
429with aRetry-Afterheader. - Nothing you send is stored or logged.
